How to build a Briiv System

With Briiv 2 Pro you can build a mesh network of small and powerful air purifiers that work in unison to automatically improve your air quality, without you having to lift a finger. Build a complete air quality system in your home or office to create a smart air monitoring system, that works to improve your entire home's air quality like no other air purifier.

But what does this actually mean? What is a Briiv System?

A Briiv System is made up of zones consisting of grouped Briiv units controlled by a primary Briiv 2 Pro unit. The primary unit monitors the air quality and if it reaches a pre-set (poor) level it will automatically turn on to full power (speed 4) and activate the other units within the zone to do the same. Once the Briiv 2 Pro detects improved air quality, the units will all revert to their previous speed. These are two features of the brand new Briiv 2 Pro, Canary Mode and Zone Mode.

What is Canary Mode?

Canary Mode is an automatic detection and activation system built into the Briiv 2 Pro.

The integrated AQI (air quality index) monitor can detect the air quality, and at your pre-set activation level the unit will automatically come on to clean your air. Once the air quality is improved, the unit will return to its previous settings. Canary Mode works in conjunction with Zone Mode, so if your units are linked, they'll all be prompted to switch on and keep the air in your entire home or workplace clear.


What is Zone Mode?

Zone Mode gives your Briiv 2 Pro the ability to control other units in the same zone. This works by linking a Briiv 2 Pro to secondary Briiv units (made up of either existing original Briiv units or Briiv 2 units). The controlling unit will monitor the air quality and turn on or off as needed using Canary Mode, and the secondary units will mirror this! So, if poor air quality is detected, all units in the zone will be prompted to turn on until your air is clean, then return to their previous level. Within a zone each unit's schedule and speed setting is independent so you can still customise the Briiv to its own space.


What are the benefits of a Briiv system?

Briiv 2 Pro is the only air purifier that’s able to create this mesh system to actively monitor and improve the air quality in your entire home. You can use our recommended systems, or you can create a custom grouping based on your individual zone needs and the layout of your home.

Canary Mode means you don’t have to worry about tracking your air quality or fiddling with settings, you can simply set the Briiv 2 Pro and leave it to do its thing!

Having Briiv throughout your home offers the same air purification as having 3,043 houseplants; just imagine that in every room!


What’s the difference between Briiv and Briiv 2 Pro in the Zone?

Unlike the original Briiv, Briiv 2 Pro has a built-in air quality monitor that allows it to work intelligently. But you don’t need all the units in the system to be Pros! Any Briiv unit that’s connected to the Briiv 2.0 app can be added into a zone, and you can have a number of units linked to this. If you have one Briiv 2 Pro per zone, you can link other Briiv units as you’d like.


Which system is right for me?

There are three different systems available to get you started with Zone Mode. Below, we’ll explain what each system comes with and how they’d be best used.

Large Room System

The large room system is the simplest system, with one Briiv 2 Pro unit and one Briiv 2 secondary unit. This system is perfect for a larger room or an open plan living space. Kitchen leads into your living room? This system is perfect for keeping those cooking smells away from your sofa!

Single Floor

The single floor system accommodates a larger area, for example three rooms or an extra-large open plan space. This includes an additional Briiv 2 unit, making 3 units total.

Full House

The full house system is designed to create multiple zones across the home, with two Briiv 2 Pro units and 4 Briiv 2 units. This is a great option for having units in each room, or creating upstairs and downstairs zones.

You may even decide that none of the systems are quite right for your space, in which case you can build your own system!


How to create a Briiv system?

To set up a Briiv system you’ll first need to measure the space you want the unit in. We have a handy calculator HERE that tells you how many units you’ll need in a given space. A space is any open area of the home that isn’t separated by walls or doors; if you want a Briiv system to tackle cooking smells but you have an open plan kitchen/dining room, the whole area needs to be measured. 

Once you know how many units you need, you can decide where you’d like your separate zones to be. This is entirely your choice, so you can get creative! Whether you want your zones to be separated by floor, room, or area, you can choose which units will work for you.

Once you’ve placed your units you can get them connected to the app, and then to each other!
